Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry obtained a restraining order against a man who was arrested outside her home on a few days earlier, after he was caught prowling her property for the alleged third time.Halle, 44, says she was forced her to hire a team of armed security officers to guard her home after two previous terrifying encounters with the stalker.The man, 27-year-old Richard Franco, was charged with felony stalking and ordered to stay 100 yards away from Berry and her young daughter upon his release.
Declaration to the court:
“This person has jeopardized not only my personal safety, but also the safety and well-being of my family. This person has invaded and trampled upon the most fundamental sense of security I have, and I am extremely frightened of him and what he might do to me or those I love.”Franco, currently behind bars with bail set at $150,000, returns to court July 27th for a preliminary hearing. If convicted, he could face up to three years in prison.
